Database of humanitarian projects funded by ECHO and EU member states. PDF spending overviews.
The European Union as a whole (i.e., the Member States and the Commission) is one of the world's main humanitarian aid donors; the Humanitarian Aid department (ECHO) is the service of the European Commission responsible for this activity. ECHO humanitarian data is based on ECHO's financial management database HOPE (Humanitarian Office Programme Environment), in operation since 1996, and ABAC, the corporate financial management system used by the European Commission. The Member States of the European Union have agreed to inform ECHO when they approve funding for humanitarian aid, using a 14-point report system.
