About this dataset
Postal Codes Dataset for Denmark (DK)
This dataset contains Danish postal codes – 1,089 rows, all 5 regions and 99 municipalities (98 kommuner plus Christianso). Built directly from DAWA (api.dataforsyningen.dk), Denmark's official geodata platform.

Data Sources
Postal districts and municipality admin data are sourced from DAWA / Dataforsyningen, run by SDFI (Styrelsen for Dataforsyning og Infrastruktur), the Danish government geodata agency. Postal codes originate from PostNord/PostDanmark. Licensed CC BY 4.0.
Licensing status. Cleared to sell – licence_status.decision: compatible. See ATTRIBUTION.txt for the full attribution notice.
Coverage note. All 5 regions and all 99 municipalities are represented. 246 of the 1,089 postal codes span more than one municipality in the source register; 8 of those were deliberately re-pointed to a municipality other than the source's first-listed one so that 7 municipalities that never appear first for any code are still represented by at least one row.
Usage
The dataset files are available in CSV format and can be accessed and downloaded using the links provided in the datapackage.yml.
postal_code and admin_code2 must be read as text (dtype=str) – a naive pd.read_csv() can otherwise strip leading zeros.
