About this dataset

Italy (IT) — internal licensing notes

Not mentioned in datahub-next#941 — no known licensing flag on this country. Source: GeoNames IT postal export, CC BY 4.0.

Session finding, 2026-08-19

Fixed it/scripts/ from hardcoded other-repo paths to self-contained. Verified with a cold fetch (cached source deleted first): rebuild is byte-identical (MD5 match) to both the pre-existing local copy and live R2, 18,415 rows. Cleanest of the countries audited this session — no data-quality issues found in the existing R2 copy.

No licensing review beyond confirming GeoNames CC BY 4.0 as the source — this was a code-reproducibility audit, not a licence audit.
