About this dataset
Postal Codes Dataset for Malta (MT)
This dataset lists the locality postal-code prefixes of Malta, one row per named locality, with
the local council (ISO 3166-2:MT) and coordinates. Each postal_code is the three-letter
locality prefix only (for example ATD), not a complete deliverable postcode.
Column definitions, row count, size and last-updated date are in datapackage.yaml.

Changes made to the source data: admin_code1 recomputed as ISO 3166-2:MT through a crosswalk
from GeoNames' numeric admin code; admin_name1 set to the local council name for that code.
Not endorsed by, or affiliated with, GeoNames.
Known limitations
- Malta's full postcodes have the form
AAA 9999. GeoNames carries only the first three letters "for copyright reasons", so the four-digit part is not in this dataset. - Some councils have a second named place under the same code, so
place_namecan differ from the council. alternative_city_nameis not populated.

The dataset files are available in CSV format and can be accessed and downloaded using
the links provided in datapackage.yaml.
