About this dataset
Postal Codes Dataset for Norway (NO)
This dataset contains Norwegian postal codes – 5,122 rows, all 17 fylker (15 counties plus Svalbard and Jan Mayen) and 359 kommuner. Built directly from Bring/Posten Norge's official postnummerregister.
Note: This dataset is a sample containing the first 100 rows. If you need access to the complete dataset, please contact our sales team for more information: datahub@datopian.com
Data Sources
Postal codes and municipality data are sourced from Bring (Posten Norge AS), Norway's national postal operator. Licensed NLOD 2.0 (Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data) – commercial use and resale permitted on attribution alone, no share-alike.
Licensing status. Cleared to sell – licence_status.decision: compatible. See ATTRIBUTION.txt for the full attribution notice, including a note on ISO 3166-2:NO's register lagging Norway's 2024 county reform.
Coverage note. All 17 fylker/territories and all 359 kommuner are covered. No coordinates in this release – the source register does not carry them.
Usage
The dataset files are available in CSV format and can be accessed and downloaded using the links provided in the datapackage.yml.
