About this dataset
Postal Codes Dataset for Sierra Leone (SL)
Sierra Leone has no postal code system. This dataset lists chiefdoms across every district and province, with centroid coordinates — an administrative-divisions-only dataset. postal_code is empty on every row; this is not an oversight.
Column definitions, row count, size and last-updated date are in datapackage.yaml.

Changes made to the source data: admin_code1 set to the ISO 3166-2:SL province code through a name crosswalk; the district name "Fabala" corrected to "Falaba"; centroid coordinates rounded to 5 decimal places.
Not endorsed by, or affiliated with, OCHA.
Licensing status. Licensed CC-BY-IGO — attribution-only, no share-alike, explicitly permits commercial use and derivatives (this licence alone would have supported a paid resale). This dataset is distributed free, per this project's policy that any dataset with no postal codes ships free regardless of how permissive its underlying licence is. See ATTRIBUTION.txt for the full disclosure.
Known limitations
- Sierra Leone reorganised its chiefdoms in 2017 (de-amalgamation); estimates since put the national total at a different figure from this source. This dataset's source dates from the reform period and has not been reconciled against the current count. Treat it as complete for the chiefdoms it lists, not as a complete national chiefdom list.
