About this dataset
Postal Codes Dataset for Tanzania, United Republic of (TZ)
This dataset contains Tanzanian postal codes — 74,139 rows across all 31 regions, ward-level granularity, 100% coded.

Data Sources
Postal codes and ward/locality names are sourced from tanzaniapostcode.com, which mirrors the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority's National Postcode Allocation Plan (NAPS, June 2024).
Licensing status — read before commercial use. This dataset's licence status is unresolved: the source states no reuse restriction in its terms of service, but also grants no explicit licence and carries its own compilation copyright notice. See ATTRIBUTION.txt for the full disclosure. Contact datahub@datopian.com before relying on this dataset under a licence that requires a confirmed redistribution grant.
Usage
The dataset files are available in CSV format and can be accessed and downloaded using the links provided in the datapackage.yml.
postal_code and admin_code1 must be read as text (dtype=str) — a naive pd.read_csv() can otherwise mis-handle leading zeros.
