About this dataset

Uganda Locality Directory (No Postal Code System), UG

Uganda has no bulk-fetchable national postal code system – a real 5-digit code is rolling out via a government-app concession (Postman), but no bulk export or API exists yet. This is a free locality directory – 11,455 places across all 4 regions, coordinates included. postal_code is intentionally empty on every row.

Data Sources

Sourced from GeoNames' gazetteer (not the postal-code export, which does not exist for Uganda), licensed CC BY 4.0. See ATTRIBUTION.txt in the packaged data for the full disclosure.
