We built an open, reproducible price index for U.S. dental care — and released the whole thing so anyone can verify or reuse it. Here's exactly how it works. ## What the dataset covers For all **50 U.S. states + the District of Columbia (2026)** we compiled average prices for three common, comparable procedures: - a single **dental implant** (with a low–high range) - a per-tooth **veneer** - a full course of **braces** …plus a state **cost-of-living index** and an **affordability** score. ##
Independent 2026 dataset of average dental prices across all 50 U.S. states and DC: single implant (low/avg/high), per-tooth veneer, full-course braces, a composite Cost Index (100 = national average), state cost-of-living index and affordability score. Dental prices track cost of living at Pearson r = 0.835. Market and pricing research, not clinical advice. Source: https://realdentalcosts.com/en/us-dental-cost-index/ — DOI 10.5281/zenodo.20531729.
